Itinerary
Day 1: Depart aboard our deluxe motorcoach as we head to Delaware to experience the beauty of the holidays. We begin with a visit to NEMOURS MANSION, Alfred du Pont’s 18th century French-style chateau. Our interior tour will reveal the DuPont Christmas extravagance at its best! Head for home after our wonderful holiday adventure. Two nights at the INN AT MENDENHALL HOTEL including a WELCOME RECEPTION & DINNER.
Day 2: Arrive at WINTERTHUR MUSEUM, the elegant country estate of Henry Francis du Pont, an eminent horticulturist and collector of American furniture and decorative arts. Walk in the footsteps of du Pont’s family and guest and enjoy exquisite decorations, including the dried flower Christmas tree.
This evening visit the internationally renowned LONGWOOD GARDENS, Pierre S. du Pont’s grand estate of gardens, fountains, and conservatories. A Longwood Christmas makes your holiday oh so merry and bright! The Christmas spectacular includes over 500,000 lights, thousands of brilliant poinsettias, towering Christmas trees and fragrant flowers blooming in the Conservatory’s Crystal Palace.
Day 3: Visit the NEW YORK BOTANICAL GARDEN Holiday Train Show— a miniature wonderland in the warmth of the Conservatory. Marvel at model trains zipping through an enchanting display of more than 175 famous New York landmarks, each delightfully re-created from natural materials such as pine cones, acorns, and seeds. Enjoy lunch and dinner en route as we return home with wonderful holiday memories.
